Savoy is a dessert typical of the Sicilian tradition. Legend has it that the Benedictine nuns of Catania, on the occasion of the annexation of Sicily to the Kingdom of Italy, designed this cake among whose ingredients were piedmontese hazelnuts, in honor of the House of Savoy.
